QED crank is made of ultralight 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum, which adopts II-Gen top triple hollow design to strengthen the structure. The crank is integrally molded by applying precise CNC and deep-hole drilling techniques. In comparison with other brand products under the same weight, the vertical stiffness of QED crank is 12% stronger

QED Chainring adopts integrated bolt-free structure to realize light design. Compared with the traditional flat chainring structure, the geometric structure has better lateral stiffness. It achieves better transmission efficiency in extreme cases where maximum or minimum cassette is applied.

The chainring is optimized according to the FEA analysis of the multi-directional strength, providing the exquisite balance of weight, stiffness and durability performance.
According to multiple static load experiments, the chainring stayed intact with 4900N tension applying.

The basic principle of chainring design is accurate and smooth speed control, and the key to realize this is the design of speed control function area. QED chainring with different teeth ratio is equipped with different number of functional areas. Through the optimal configuration of the speed control functional area, it can help you to control speed at will.

Under optimized design of mechanical transition zone, the chainring adopts splicing structure of double center and straight groove, so as to improve the speed control efficiency under complex road conditions such as rainy days and muddy roads. In the meantime, it also reduces the wear of chains and teeth, and effectively ensures accurate and smooth control at different speed ratios under the load and transmission conditions. In comparison with I-Gen, the speed control efficiency has been improved by 14%, and it is perfectly compatible with 10-12 speed chains.

Spindle is an important structure connecting the frame, and the design technology has a vital influence on the drivetrain efficiency and durability.
QED spindle is made of 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum. The larger diameter design of DUB has lighter weight, better stiffness and better waterproof performance than the common 24mm steel spindle.

For more intuitive information about the excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio of QED road bike's chainring, we selected several groups of chainring samples and made a compression test report of metal materials.

In the experiment, we selected four crank samples with 170mm legs and applied 1500N force (about 153 kg) respectively. Through the test, it can be concluded that under the same force, QED crank has the smallest deformation and shows excellent stiffness.
